1.5 Grades in Social, Economic, and Political Thought at UP Open University
I am delighted to express my gratitude towards Dr. Myla M. Arcinas, who deserves my heartfelt appreciation for her exceptional teaching and guidance throughout my journey in Social, Economic, and Political Thought course at the University of the Philippines Open University. She is an assistant dean for external affairs and esteemed associate professor of the Behavioral Sciences Department at De La Salle University-Manila with an excellent track record of being an SDRC research fellow. Her research work on gender, overseas Filipino workers, left-behind family members, and health is of significant and has led to her obtaining a Ph.D. in Sociology from Dela Salle University-Manila and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sociology from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños and University of the Philippines-Diliman.
Dr. Arcinas has been the driving force behind several SDRC projects, including “Conflict of Interest in Infant and Young Child Nutrition among Professionals and Health Professional Societies” and “Enabling Women for an Active Role in Community Development: A Women, Work and Development Project.” Currently, she is a Co-Investigator for the project Behavioral Change Communication Intervention for Premature and Small Newborn Care: Development of Prematurity Communication Strategy for the PhilHealth Z-Benefit Package for Premature and Small Newborns and was Co-Investigator for the project “National Kids Online Survey (NKOLS)” both funded by UNICEF. Her relentless efforts and commitment to research work have set an example for many aspiring researchers like me. Thank you once again, Dr. Arcinas, for all your guidance and support.
