1. Describe how the dancer uses body in the piece.

Heads, arms, feet, legs, and torsos are all used in the dance.

Heads: Head drops; slow head circle; Torso: flat back; contraction sequence; Feet & Legs: Arabesque; leg swings; piroutte; tendu; second position; crossed front; open; crossed back; open back; degage; Arms: cross over; bras bas; first; second; low; high; third; fourth; fifth; en haut

2. Enumerate all the different types of actions & movement you see in this dance (box, slaps, kicks, etc.).

Standing, Sitting, Kneeling, Contracting, Lying down, Swing. Grand Battement. Flick kicking. Hinge equilibrium. Falling and Brushing.

3.Discuss how the movement highlights characters and the mood.

It conveyed sorrow by

a. concealing one’s face

b. begin with a flat back

c. a slow motion melancholy song

d. lying down

e. kneeling

f. serious expressions on facial features

4.How about space?

Use both small and large spaces. When movement occurs all at once, such as when lying down, contracting in series, ROND DE JAMBE- ROUNDING OF THE LEG, and falling, the area is constrained. Large turning space for performing kicks, pirouettes, and CHAINE

5.Did you notice changes in timing?

I did utilize a different method of counting.
Regular stanza: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
chorus: 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8

6. Analyze the use of energy in this dance.

Initially moving slowly, moving with moderate energy when falling, then moving with intense intensity when turning and kicking

7. How did all the elements contribute to the beauty of the piece?

through coordinating all elements: body, action, location, time, and energy  in energy.
