JOURNAL ENTRY 1: CREATIVE DECISION MAKING
By: Peter Breboneria II
” To gain an understanding of film as an art, we should ask why a film is designed the way it is. When a scene frightens or excites us…we can ask how the film makers have achieved those effects”.
-Film Art Book
The making of “My Story,” an autobiographical film were designed to inspire viewers to take action on the social problem on education and to present the personal purpose of studying film based from “ICYD Documentary in Online ALS” published in 2013. When my ICYD team produced the documentary film, artistic and business choices needs to be discussed.
Creating “My Story” is not just about acquiring facts about the Founder of International Center for Youth Development (ICYD), the social problem of four(4) million out of school youth and adults in the Philippines, and the solution of the internet based- Alternative Learning System (ALS) at the Department of Education-NCR but also making creative decisions and story lines that will touch the heart and move viewers to accountability towards his underprivileged fellowmen. In accomplishing this agenda, I carefully selected every scene to produce a one- minute documentary. I also asked feedback from my film group mates. One of them commented on having loud music sounds over voice. My team and I at ICYD lessen the sounds using Adobe Premiere.
